The Pennekamp Library will be open most Tuesdays during the summer from 3:00pm - -5:00pm for checkout of books.  Current dates are anticipated to be:

Changes to the above schedule will be announced via eNews or on available on the PK on-line calendar.

Book lists for summer reading can be accessed at www.mbusd.org/edsvc/rdg/index.html.  Click on the grade your child will be entering in September 2005.

For elementary grades, there is no required reading.  The books listed here are suggested for pleasure reading and are recommended by the MBUSD Library Media Specialists.

For middle school grades, 3 books from the reading list are required.  Incoming high school students must read 2 from the appropriate list.

Dragons who will be in grades kindergarten through 5th at Pennekamp are welcome to participate in Mrs. Jones’ summer reading program.  Please pick up a “passport” from Mrs. Jones before school is out.

If you'd like to create your own version of the passport, print out the following PDF file, put the pages together, wrong side in, cut it in half, fold and then staple together.

Summer Reading Passport ( in PDF format)

Return your completed passport to the Pennekamp library in September 2005 for a free book choice from a Scholastic Book Club catalog.
