The Pennekamp Family is actively supporting Katrina relief efforts.  Coordinators Tami Brothers and Marjie Block led a team of volunteers who gathered much needed items to send to those in need.

Donated items were dropped off and moved to the Pennekamp cafeteria

where volunteers sorted, boxed, and prepared the items for shipment.

Pennekamp families were extremely generous and we thank everyone who provided donations and volunteered their time to assist others.

Pennekamp swimmers and their families along with swimmers from all around the South Bay also participated in a Katrina "Laps for Life" swim-a-thon on September 17.  Swimmers swam 126,000 yards (about 71.5 miles) and raised over $19.000 dollars for the American Red Cross.
