Pennekamp students were treated to a very special Cultural Arts Assembly, "Music Theatre Guild: The History of Musical Theatre in 42 Minutes and 28 Seconds".

Four very talented singers performed songs from musical theatre ranging from early 

shows like Rose-Marie and Showboat

to the American theatre classic 

Oklahoma!

Students also heard selections from My Fair Lady

and Hair!

There was a lot of interaction

with the audience

who enjoyed every minute of the show.

We learned that sometimes musicals are serious and sometimes, they are just plain comical!

Everyone sang along to "Tomorrow" from Annie

and danced along to music from Grease.

We learned that show business isn't always easy

but the thrill of performing is something that brings everyone back for more!

After the show was over, students got to meet the performers up close.
