all that long ago, the Pennekamp 50th Anniversary Garden looked like
this:

cinder block wall that is the northern most boundary of the garden.

Pennekamp's 50th Anniversary Celebration, the Pennekamp Student
Council gave tours of the garden to our visitors. MBUSD
Superintendent Dr. Gwen Gross stopped by and chatted with Howard
Allegan of the PeaPatch Community Gardeners.
Everyone admired our beautiful commemorative gate and the students'
handiwork.
