Pennekamp 5th Grade Promotion - June
22,
2005
|
|
|
The
5th grade class of 2005 proudly took the stage on their final day at
Pennekamp. In front of a packed house of family, friends,
teachers, and MBUSD Superintendent Dr. Gwen Gross, they proudly
recited Longfellow's "The Midnight Ride of Paul Revere"
and sang
selections ranging from the "Preamble to the Constitution"
and "Fifty Nifty United States" to "Lean on Me".

|
Every
student recalled a fond memory of Pennekamp beginning with that
first, terrifying day of kindergarten (from a 5 year old's
perspective) through the final days of 5th grade. Their
stories brought laughter, sighs, and more than a few tears to their
audience.

Students
discussed their first encounter with "that new kid" who
soon become a best friend, going on favorite field trips throughout
the years, and learning that when a teacher speaks a bit too quickly
while teaching everyone the pronouns "he, she, it", the
consequences can be quite amusing!
