Pennekamp's third grade students presented a Poetry Marathon on Friday, February 18th.  Under the direction of Artist in Residence Radha Delamarter,  

each student selected and then memorized and presented several poems (some of them original works!),

choreographed skits and created props to coordinate with their poems,

introduced themselves via alliterative phrases they created

learned how to project their voices and emotions to an audience, 

and learned how to use expression to make the oral word interesting! 

The Poetry Marathon was the culmination of months of work and students, parents, and teachers enjoyed the show! 

Between classroom performances, Ms. Radha hosted a rhyming exercise and anyone who couldn't "rhyme in time" had to demonstrate a dramatic death.
