Saturday, March 19
was Campus Beautification Day at Pennekamp! 105 students and their
parents and families turned out to beautify the Pennekamp campus.

From weeding and
planting new flowers and shrubs

to planting
new trees all around the campus with the assistance of The Tree People,

the entire
Pennekamp family--students, parents, administration, faculty and staff made our campus
sparkle!

Four Aleppo pines,
six California pepper trees, three New Zealand tea trees and eight ornamental
pear trees were lovingly placed around the campus. In addition, 20
lavender plants, flats of impatiens, and numerous packets of California poppy
seeds were planted to add splashes of color.

Weeding got a bit
tricky. Sometimes, it was really hard to dig out those roots!

Everyone pitched in
and did their part.

And even though it
was work,

doing it with
friends and family made the time go by quickly!

A huge thank you to
Beautification Day organizers Becky Allen, Kim Wilson, and Lisa Petillon who
along with Operations VP Debbie Zoppi made this wonderful day
possible. Pennekamp would also like to thank "The Tree People"
for their assistance in planting trees all over campus! Most of all,
we thank all of our volunteers who proved the adage "Many hands make
light work" is true! See
beginning to end photos of a tree being planted on Campus Beautification Day!
