Authors' Week Family Night -
February 3, 2005

Family
Night is always a special part of Authors' Week at Pennekamp. Author Robin Rector Krupp entertained an enthusiastic standing room
only audience in the Pennekamp cafeteria.

Robin
had students don festive hats and sketch each other. First, she started with an example using a volunteer from the
audience.

Everyone
loved the resulting sketch!

Students
then turned toward each other

and
began to draw.

Robin
was available to autograph books for everyone.

Former
PK parents April Halprin Wayland, an award winning author and
originator of Authors' Week and and her husband Gary Wayland,
Manhattan Beach Athletic Foundation (MBAF) president, dropped by to
observe the festivities. They are thrilled that Authors' Week
continues to thrive at Pennekamp.

Smiles
were on display everywhere. Here, Robin Rector Krupp's father
enjoys seeing his daughter interact with Pennekamp students.

Authors'
Week committee chair Darren Sepanek presents Robin with some thank
you gifts so she can remember her visit to Pennekamp.

Authors'
Week would not be possible without the financial support of the
Pennekamp PTA and the numerous volunteer hours provided by our
Authors' Week committee. Thank you to Darren Sepanek (left), Authors'
Week committee chair, Charmaine Nielsen (center), Pennekamp PTA co-VP of
Student Services and Chris Kamatani (right), coordinator of Authors' Week
book sales.

Thank
you to Naomi Ryono, Taryn & Taylin Kamimoto, and Tammy Choy for providing
